Christopher MacLaren, DO, FAOAO

Background

M. Christopher MacLaren, DO is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon
specializing in sports medicine and minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery.
Dr. MacLaren also performs general orthopedics, fracture care, selected hand and
foot surgery. His comprehensive orthopedic services include non-operative,
operative, and arthroscopic treatment options for bone and joint injuries related to
sports, trauma, or degenerative conditions.

Dr. MacLaren completed his medical degree at Ohio University College of
Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio, in 1994 where he graduated with honors.
Dr. MacLaren completed a traditional Orthopedic Emphasis internship at Ohio
University U.S. Health Doctors Hospital Columbus, Ohio. An Orthopedic Surgery
Residency followed this at Oklahoma State University Health Science Center
Tulsa Regional Medical Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma. He completed his residency in
1999. During his fourth year, he served as Chief Resident. He then completed two
six month sub-specialty fellowships; the first in arthroscopy and sports medicine
at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, followed by a mini
fellowship in sports medicine and knee reconstruction in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. MacLaren is a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics.
He is also the associate team physician for WWE professional wrestling
and a Clinical Professor of Orthopaedics at Nova Southeastern University.

Specialty

Dr. MacLaren specializes in the evaluation and treatment of bone and joint
disorders of the shoulders, knees, hands and wrists including non-operative
modalities, arthroscopic surgery, and surgical reconstruction. Arthroscopic surgery
can be performed in less time and with less discomfort than conventional surgery.
Most procedures are accomplished on an outpatient basis and typically have smaller
incisions and less time under anesthesia and quicker return to activity. His expertise
